Tomato cultivation technology

Tomato cultivation technology

1. Sowing and seedling raising

Tomato generally refers to tomatoes. It can be cultivated by sowing. Choose the appropriate tomato variety, select plump, full and healthy tomato seeds, and do the germination treatment in advance. The best time for sowing is from early March to early April. Choose a plot with deep soil, good drainage and irrigation, and good ventilation for sowing and seedling raising. Apply decomposed farmyard manure in advance and carry out disinfection. Sow the seeds evenly, cover them with plastic film, and wait for the seedlings to grow.

2. Planting at the right time

One week before planting the tomato seedlings, remove the film to ventilate and cool down the area to harden the seedlings. Apply well-rotted fertilizer to the soil 15-20 days before planting. The time for transplanting tomatoes is generally from early April to early May. It is better to transplant them after 4 pm on a sunny day or on a cloudy day. When transplanting, the plant spacing should be kept at 50-60 cm and the row spacing should be kept at 1.2-1.3 meters. After transplanting, water the tomatoes thoroughly.

3. Field Management

When the tomato plants grow to 30 cm, you can erect a trellis and tie up the vines in time, and pay attention to thinning out the flowers and fruits. Remove unnecessary side branches in time, remove deformed, diseased and excess fruits, and remove old and diseased leaves at the bottom in the later stage of growth. After the tomato seedlings have grown, pay attention to tilling, weeding and soil fertilization.

4. Disease prevention and control

During the tomato cultivation and management period, it is necessary to prevent and control diseases such as early blight, late blight, viral disease, and navel rot. In the peak season for diseases, spray fungicides in advance for prevention.
