How to cultivate Buddleja

How to cultivate Buddleja

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: The normal growth of Buddleja requires maintaining a suitable temperature. It is not very cold-resistant or heat-resistant, and the temperature needs to be kept between 18 and 26 degrees. The high temperature cannot exceed thirty-five degrees, and the low temperature cannot be lower than five degrees.

2. Watering: Water according to seasonal changes. In spring, you need to water every three days or so. In summer, you need to increase the amount of watering. If the temperature is too high, you can water it once a day. Of course, you don’t need to water it frequently in winter because the plants begin to hibernate at this time, so watering it once every two weeks is enough.

3. Light: It needs to receive warm and sufficient light. In spring and autumn, it needs full sunlight. However, in summer, it is necessary to reduce strong light exposure as much as possible to avoid withering the newly opened flowers.

4. Fertilization: Some base fertilizer needs to be applied before planting, and some fertilizer water needs to be applied before flowering. You can apply some fertilizer cakes or organic fertilizer, and water it after fertilizing.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Sowing is the main method, and it is best to sow in spring. After sowing, the soil needs to be kept moist. You can also cover it with some grass to prevent water evaporation and loss.

2. Pruning: Adult Buddleja needs proper pruning. Some of the overgrown side branches should be cut off, and some diseased branches should also be pruned to ensure that it can grow normally.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Diseases: There are relatively few diseases of Buddleja, so as long as watering and ventilation are controlled well, there will be no diseases.

2. Pests: Red spider mites may appear, which can be controlled and prevented by using a dichlorvos solution. When the larvae just appear, they can be removed manually.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It has certain toxicity, so try to keep it out of reach of children to avoid accidental ingestion.

2. Can it be grown at home? It is not suitable because its plant shape is relatively tall and the home cannot meet its normal growth conditions.
