How to grow succulent plants

How to grow succulent plants

1. Watering

When watering, you should control the amount. It is best to water it thoroughly once the soil is completely dry. Because succulents have a strong ability to store water, but when watering, you must not water them halfway, that is, the upper part is wet and the lower part is dry, and they are not watered at all. This will have a great impact on the growth of the plant.

2. Lighting

Succulents need at least four hours of sunlight a day to grow, and some varieties require longer exposure to sunlight. Light can not only make succulents stronger, make the plants brighter and more compact, but also greatly reduce the invasion of diseases and pests. Be careful not to stay out of the sun for a long time.

3. Soil

The growth of plants is maintained by the root system, and succulents are no exception, so it is very important to use suitable soil. Domestic succulents are generally grown using peat soil as the main component and sand as the auxiliary component. For those plants that you have just bought home, it is best to use peat soil to root them first, and then consider changing the soil.

4. Ventilation

The maintenance environment should not be too stuffy. Succulents are prone to black rot if they grow in a high temperature, high humidity and airtight environment for a long time. Therefore, you should open the windows more often to keep the air in the breeding environment fresh enough.
