Clematis planting and maintenance

Clematis planting and maintenance

1. Planting method

1. Prepare the potting soil: When planting, choose fertile soil. Before planting, you can lay a layer of gravel at the bottom of the pot to increase drainage and avoid water accumulation and root rot in the later stage. In addition, an appropriate amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be added to supplement nutrients. Diluted fertilizer solution will do. Adequate nutrients are beneficial to root growth.

2. Seed selection and planting: First, choose seeds with full and round grains, cut off the silky tail, and then soak them in clean water for a day. After the seed coat absorbs water, peel it off and then plant. When planting, you don't need to plant it too deep in the soil, about two centimeters will be enough. Cover it with a thin layer of soil after planting, and it will germinate in a month.

2. Maintenance methods

1. Light: It likes light, so you should pay attention to the time it is exposed to light when caring for it. Avoid strong light in summer to avoid sunburn. Full sunlight is acceptable in winter, and sufficient sunlight exposure will promote the plant to grow more vigorously.

2. Watering: Watering does not need to be too frequent during maintenance, and water should not accumulate. Usually water once every half a month in spring, and more often in summer, once a week. There is a lot of rain in autumn, so the frequency of rain should be reduced. It is best to stop water supply in winter.

3. Fertilization: No fertilizer is needed during the seedling stage to avoid root burn. Fertilize frequently during the growing season. Compound fertilizer will do. With sufficient nutrients, the plant will grow more vigorously. Applying an appropriate amount of farmyard manure before flowering can make the flowers bloom more beautifully.
