How to appreciate bonsai, learn these points and you can become an expert

1. Cliff Style

As the name suggests, it expresses the posture of a tree on a cliff. The trunk of this shape will hang out of the flowerpot and extend into the depths. This kind of picture is very common in Huangshan’s tourist promotional photos.

2. Su Ren Style

Su Ren is not a natural posture, but the name of a person, Chen Su Ren. He started to learn from a master when he was a teenager, and later became the abbot of Haizhuang Temple in Guangzhou. He is one of the founders of Lingnan style. His style is characterized by elegance and naturalness, describing bonsai as very simple and grand.

3. Cloud Head and Rain Foot

In the composition of bonsai, the cloud head and rain foot can be simply understood as an inverted three-shaped shape, that is, large on the top and small on the bottom. This shape is sometimes achieved with stone.

4. School

The schools are mainly divided into Yangzhou School, Suzhou School, Sichuan School, Shanghai School and Lingnan School. Yangzhou pie is tied up with palm fiber, forming clouds or pieces. The Suzhou School is mainly created through pruning, with many tree stumps being used as bonsai. The Sichuan style has regular bends. The Shanghai style is mainly about bundling and pruning. The Lingnan School is similar to the Suren style, taking the shape of the tree itself as its concept and pursuing nature.
