Anthurium care methods

Anthurium care methods

1. Proper shading

Anthurium does not like to grow under strong light, so some sunlight should be blocked during maintenance, especially in summer. Not only should it be shaded, but it should also be moved to a cool place if necessary. However, the light cannot be too weak, which will hinder the normal photosynthesis.

2. Suitable humidity

It requires sufficiently high humidity to grow, and the substrate should be kept moist during the growth period, but less watering should be done during the flowering period. If the breeding environment is high temperature, such as in summer, the humidity should be increased by spraying a small amount of water. When watering it in severe winter, you should control the water, otherwise the plant will be frozen.

3. Reasonable fertilization

The plant likes fertilizer more, but you cannot give it fertilizer with too high concentration. Generally, it should be fertilized once every 10 days in spring. After the temperature drops in autumn, a small amount of fertilizer is needed, but no fertilizer is needed after the beginning of winter. If liquid fertilizer is applied, spray water appropriately after watering to wash away the fertilizer on the leaves.

4. Prevention and control of diseases and pests

It is easy to be attacked by diseases and insects during its growth period. Once discovered, it should be treated with medicine in time, and the diseased leaves should be removed and the fallen leaves should be cleaned up in time. We should also pay attention to prevention and proper ventilation to avoid the plants growing in a high temperature and high humidity environment for a long time.
