How to make mung beans sprout quickly

Mung bean germination environment

If you grow mung beans yourself, you can choose good seeds for yourself. If you don’t grow them, you can buy them from a seed store.

Mung beans require a warm environment during the germination process, preferably between 20-30 degrees. The temperature in winter needs to be between 27-30 degrees. In summer, attention should be paid to cooling and dehumidifying the mung bean dispenser. Because if the temperature is too low, the growth cycle of mung bean sprouts will become slow and the yield will decrease. If the temperature is too high, the growth rate will be too fast and the quality will decrease.

Mung bean sprouts have a greater demand for water during their growth period, and also have certain requirements for water temperature. Therefore, the cultivation room is best built near a water source and the environmental quality should be high. If the waste gas during the growth process cannot be discharged in time, it will affect its growth. Regular ventilation and timely discharge of waste gas are required. This is an important factor in ensuring the healthy growth of mung bean sprouts.

Mung bean germination process

1. Wash the mung beans, gauze and small steamer, then spread the gauze inside the steamer, put the mung beans on it, and cover the mung beans with a piece of gauze.

2. Place the steamer with mung beans on a small basin. Make sure the steamer is elevated and place the basin in a warm place, next to the heater in winter or on the balcony in summer.

3. Then, go over and water it once every day when you remember to do so. Repeat this process until the gauze on top is moist.

Direct planting of mung bean seeds

Mung bean seeds absorb enough water and will germinate in 1-5 days. Generally, they will germinate in 2 days, which is related to the metabolism of mung beans. However, the germination experiment takes 7 days. It takes 7 days from dry mung beans to complete germination. If they do not germinate after 7 days, they are considered to be unable to germinate.

Mung bean seed germination

If you want mung bean seeds to germinate quickly, you can use the "start-up treatment" and "seed soaking treatment". The method of the start-up treatment is: soak the mung beans in 60°C hot water for 1 to 2 minutes, rinse with cold water 1 to 2 times to give temperature stimulation to the dormant seeds. The method of the seed soaking treatment is: soak the seeds in 20-30 degree water, which usually takes about 8 to 12 hours.

Mung bean germination planting method

Choose plump, disease-free, strong mung bean seeds, and pick out those immature, shriveled seeds or those with scars. Their seed coats are hard and need to be germinated. Soak them in warm water for ten hours, rinse them in the morning and evening, and then clean out the bean skins in time.

Choose a container of appropriate size, put a layer of towel in the container, and then put the mung beans in. The towel should not be too wet. After placing the mung beans in the container, cover it with another layer of towel and wrap the mung beans. During the maintenance period, pour an appropriate amount of water into the container.

It is better to use warm water when watering, and the maintenance temperature should be between 25-30 degrees. The container used for germination should be clean. Generally, mung bean sprouts can be harvested in about 7 days.
