1. Leaf DifferenceThe leaves of Syngonium are dimorphic. The young leaves are simple, arrow-shaped or halberd-shaped, and the old leaves are palmate with 5 to 9 lobes. The new leaves are light in color, while the old leaves are dark green and thick. The leaves of variegated caladium are basal, shield-shaped, arrow-shaped or heart-shaped, with smooth petioles 15 to 25 cm long. The surface of the leaves is covered with transparent or opaque spots of various colors, and the back is pink-green. The tip of the leaves is suddenly narrowed and has a pointed tip. The posterior lobes are 1/2 of the front lobes and are oblong-ovate. 2. Flower DifferencesThe spathe inflorescence of Syngonium is light green or yellow. The inflorescence stalk of Caladium is shorter than the petiole, about 10 to 13 cm long. The spathe tube is oval, 3 cm long, green on the outside and green-white on the inside. The male inflorescence is spindle-shaped, 3 cm long, 7 mm thick in the middle, and gradually narrows towards the two ends. |
