The difference between firecrackers and cannon flowers

The difference between firecrackers and cannon flowers

1. Difference of blades

The leaves of the firecracker bamboo are scattered, oblong to oblong-ovate, less than 1.5 cm long, and most of them on the branches will degenerate into scales. The leaves of the firecracker flower are opposite, oval, not easy to fall off, gradually pointed at the apex, nearly circular at the base, about 4-10 cm long, 3-5 cm wide, and entire.

2. The difference between flowers

Firecrackers are composed of cymes. The larger panicles have many flowers, drooping downwards, and are bright red in color. The corolla is tubular and the panicles are narrow and long. The small cymes have 1-3 flowers, and the 5 lobes are ovate-triangular and arranged in an imbricate manner. The corolla has a long tube and the upper lip has 2 lobes, which are ovate or oblong. The firecracker bamboo has a panicle inflorescence growing at the top of the side branches. It is orange-red in color, has a tubular corolla, and has oblong lobes.
