1. BladesThe leaves of the Chinese jade plant are relatively broad, about 25-80 cm long and 2-4.2 cm wide. Very lustrous, with a shallow 'y' shape or flat in cross section, and usually no serrations on the edges. There are 2-5 leaves growing on the pseudobulb, which is about 1.5-2.5 cm in diameter. 2. FlowersThe inflorescence of the Chinese hollyhock is a raceme with about 5 to 20 flowers, which are about 2.5 to 5 cm in diameter when unfolded. The pedicels are long and upright, and are generally higher than the leaf racks. Sepals and petals are usually narrowly lanceolate, with petals drooping and curled at the tips. The flower color is mostly light purple-brown with dark purple-brown stripes. The flowers have a sweet fragrance when they bloom. The flowering period is from late autumn until February of the following year. |
