How to propagate alum root

How to propagate alum root

1. Division propagation

After a period of growth, the alum root will grow bigger and bigger, and fuller and fuller, just like it will burst out of the pot. Seeing its plump plants, many flower lovers will surely want to divide them.

It can be propagated by division. After the plant has bloomed, it can be propagated by division in spring and autumn. Dig out the plant and gently divide it into several clumps. Be careful not to damage the root system when dividing the plant. Arrange the small plants and plant them in pots separately.

2. Cutting propagation

Cutting propagation is a commonly used propagation method for alumroot, and leaf cuttings are generally used.

The advantage of cutting propagation is that the propagation speed is fast, and several new plants can be propagated at a time during cutting.

Note that when propagating by cuttings, you need to choose relatively complete and healthy leaves, and the cutting medium must be breathable and maintain a certain humidity. Pay attention to ventilation and shade after cuttings.

3. Seed propagation

Alum root can also be propagated by sowing. Seed propagation requires the use of seeds, and the propagation cycle is relatively long, so propagation is still mainly by cuttings.

When propagating by sowing, sow the seeds into the soil and cover them with a little soil.

IV. Tissue Culture

There is also alum root propagation and tissue culture propagation method, but relatively speaking, tissue culture is not the propagation method chosen by most flower lovers.
