How to Identify Peruvian Sugar Apple

1.Tree trunk

Peruvian sugar apple is a small deciduous tree with many branches and thin bark that is grayish white.

2. Leaves

The leaves are thin and papery, oval-lanceolate, arranged in two rows, and the underside of the leaves is pale green. It has fine hairs when it first grows, which then fade away.

3. Flowers

The flowers are solitary or 2 to 4 are clustered at the top of the branches or opposite the leaves. They are green-yellow in color, about 2 cm long, and about 2 drooping. The buds are lanceolate, the sepals are triangular, and the flowering period is from May to June.

4. Fruit

The fruit is spherical or heart-shaped cone, with a diameter of 5 to 10 cm, yellow-green in color, and no fuzz on the fruit. The fruiting period is from June to November.
