How to cultivate Cui Mei

How to cultivate Cui Mei

1. Soil

The most basic requirement is looseness and breathability. In addition, because it does not like waterlogging, the drainage must also be good. Generally, you can use leaf mold to cultivate it, and add appropriate amounts of charcoal, bark, etc. to improve its air permeability.

2. Watering

Cui Mei likes an environment with high humidity. Therefore, in spring, summer and autumn, the roots need to be provided with sufficient water, but the limitation is that there should be no water accumulation. In addition to watering, you also need to spray some water on the leaf surface frequently. However, do not continue watering during the dormant period.

3. Lighting

Usually, providing diffuse light can meet the needs. However, in summer and autumn, be sure to block about 50% of the light for it. Provide sufficient light during the flowering period to make the flowers more beautiful.

4. Temperature

Cui Mei likes warmth, but there is a difference between day and night. During the day, it is best to be between ten and twenty-five degrees. At night, it can be a little lower, about ten degrees. Not too high or too low.

5. Fertilization

Provide adequate fertilizer during the growth period. For example, dilute compound fertilizer. Before flowering, you can use some shares and bean cake fertilizer to promote flowering. However, it is not suitable to apply it in midsummer.

6. Disease prevention and control

Diseases such as anthracnose and gray mold should be prevented with fungicides before they occur. Attention should also be paid to the surrounding environment and utensils must be kept clean.
