Cultivation methods and precautions of Phnom Penh lucky bamboo

Cultivation methods and precautions of Phnom Penh lucky bamboo

1. Breeding methods

1. Temperature

It has a high tolerance to cold, and keeping it at 20-28 degrees Celsius is most conducive to its healthy growth. If it is only 2-3 degrees, it can survive. But you must protect it from frost and freezing in winter. If it is too cold, it will be frozen and will wither.

2. Lighting

It is a bamboo that likes coolness and has a strong ability to tolerate shade. In normal maintenance, you can place it directly in a semi-shaded area. Be sure not to place it under strong sunlight, otherwise it will turn yellow and its growth rate will slow down.

3. Water quality

If you grow it with water, do not use undried tap water. You should air the water first. This will reduce the chlorine in the water so that it can be in a good growth condition.

4. Fertilization

Don't be too nervous when adding fertilizer, even if you add too much, as it is very tolerant of fertilizer. Generally, compound fertilizer should be used once every 2 months. If it is grown in water, you can pour a little potassium dihydrogen phosphate into the water every half a month to promote its absorption of nutrients.

2. Matters needing attention

1. After it grows roots, add some fertilizer to make its branches and trunks thicker, but be sure to pay attention to the dosage, otherwise the roots will be burned. Generally, it is sufficient to add it once a month.

2. Never place it near electrical appliances, because its leaves will be affected and become very easy to wither, which will not look good.

3. If you want to grow it in water, it is best to do so from April to September, because this period is the most suitable for it. If the weather is dry, you can sprinkle some water on its leaves. This will make it greener and help its leaves expand better. If you grow it in water, you only need to change the water every half a month. If you leave it alone, a lot of bacteria will accumulate in the water and the roots will rot.
