How to care for the newly bought pink palm

1. How to cultivate the newly bought pink palm

When you first buy the Anthurium, you need to ensure that the environment it is kept in is warm. It cannot be kept in a low temperature environment, otherwise it will affect the normal growth of the plant. It is best to keep the temperature at around 19℃-25℃. It likes a humid environment, but when it is just bought, it has not yet returned to its normal growth state, so do not water it too much. On average, water it once every 3-5 days. Do not fertilize it for the time being to avoid root burn due to excessive fertilizer. It needs to be placed in a cool and ventilated place for the time being.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Soil: When you first buy the Anthurium, you need to provide it with a suitable potting soil environment. You can choose a loose, breathable, water-permeable soil that can retain water and fertilizer. You can choose leaf mold or peat soil and add some perlite or coal sand slag and base fertilizer to make nutrient soil. You can add some broken bricks at the bottom of the pot to help drainage.

2. Light: Pink Anthurium is a shade-loving plant. When you first buy it, you need to place it in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance. After it returns to its normal growth state, you can place it in a place with scattered light for maintenance. It needs to be properly shaded in the sun so that it is not completely exposed to the sun, but in winter when the light is weak, it does not need to be shaded and can be placed directly in the sun for maintenance.

3. Watering: Anthurium likes a moist growing environment and is afraid of drought. When you just buy it, it has not yet returned to its normal growth state. You need to reduce the amount and frequency of watering appropriately. Water it about once every 3-5 days to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Under normal circumstances, water the plant every 1-2 days in summer. Do not allow water to accumulate in the pot to avoid damaging the roots. Watering should be reduced in winter. The water can be slightly acidic, and the plants need to be sprayed with water in the dry season.

4. Temperature: Pink Palm likes a warm environment and is not cold-resistant. When you first buy it, you can keep it in an environment with a temperature of around 19℃-25℃. Under normal circumstances, during the high temperature period in summer, it is necessary to provide it with appropriate shade or spray water around it to cool it down. When the temperature is higher than 32°C, the plant will stop growing. When the temperature exceeds 25°C, windows need to be opened for ventilation to alleviate the adverse effects of high temperature. In winter, the temperature should be kept above 15℃. When the temperature is below 13℃, the plant will enter a dormant state. In winter, the plant needs to be placed indoors or wrapped in plastic bags to prevent frost damage.

5. Fertilization: Pink Anthurium likes fertilizer, but when you just buy it, in order to avoid damage to the roots of the plant, you need to temporarily stop fertilizing. Wait until the plant returns to normal growth state, then you can fertilize normally. When fertilizing, you can choose liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer with a nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium ratio of 1:1:1. Fertilize about once every 7-12 days, preferably in the morning or evening for better results. You can also fertilize the water regularly by adding one or two drops of fertilizer to the water when watering, generally once every three days, but you can only choose one of the fertilization methods, not both.
