How to grow Phalaenopsis on the balcony

How to grow Phalaenopsis on the balcony

1. Growing medium

If we want to grow it, we first need to understand what it needs from the place where it attaches. Generally speaking, the cultivation medium we provide it with requires two types of plants: aquatic plants and moss.

2. temperature

We have to grow it on the balcony and ensure the temperature is high. Because it prefers high temperature and high humidity environment, we ensure that such environmental conditions can be found on the balcony. A balcony in summer can easily meet this requirement, but a balcony in winter cannot. So we can place it in a place with insulation. In addition, in summer, if the temperature on the balcony is too high, we can also cool it down. Once the temperature is above 32 degrees, it will easily enter a dormant state. Of course, if the temperature of the balcony can be maintained in winter, then placing it here will not be a problem.

3. Watering

Because its original growth place is in the forest, where the fog is thick and the temperature is relatively high. It does not have any part that can store nutrients all the time, so we need to give it sufficient humidity so that its leaves will not wrinkle. In addition, we must ensure that it has sufficient water while keeping it on the balcony. In summer, we only need to water once at 9 o'clock and 17 o'clock every day, while in spring and autumn, we only need to water at 5 o'clock.

In addition, the frequency can be reduced moderately in winter, probably once a week is enough, and the specific time can be set at ten o'clock in the morning. If there is another cold wave, it must be well protected and no watering is required during this period. The requirement for each watering is to keep the water temperature close to that of the air. If tap water is used, it needs to be dried in advance. Assuming the environment is dry, we can use a spray. In addition, we must be careful not to get water on the flowers during the flowering period.

4. illumination

When the lighting conditions on the balcony are better, it is best not to let it face the sun directly.
