Bowl lotus cultivation method:

Seed treatment

The shell of water lily seeds is relatively hard and dense, so it needs to be processed before sowing. Before soaking the seeds, they can be artificially broken.

The method of breaking the lotus seed is very simple. One end of the lotus seed has a small tip, and the other end is round. You can put the round end on the rough cement floor and rub it or use a knife to grind it. But be careful not to damage the kernel inside the lotus seed, and don't peel off the shell directly.

Seed soaking and germination

After the lotus seeds crack, they can be soaked for germination. Place the cracked seeds in warm water at about 20 to 40 degrees Celsius. Then change the water 2 to 3 times a day. Generally, there will be signs of germination after 2 days, and the sprouts will be one centimeter in about 5 days. At this time, you can give the water lily proper sunlight to accelerate its growth.

Seedling transplanting stage

When transplanting, you can choose a ceramic pot or plastic pot without bottom holes, add garden soil or unpolluted river pond mud into the pot, and soak it in water two weeks in advance. Do not apply fertilizer.

When transplanting, you can press the thin roots of the lotus seedlings into the mud, plant one in each pot, and add appropriate amount of water after transplanting, so that the water does not submerge the lotus leaves.

You can buy sand from an aquarium store and sprinkle it on the mud a little at a time. Wait for the water to settle and then sprinkle it again until the entire tank is evenly sprinkled. With the sand, the water will become clear quickly. After changing the water to clean, you can raise a few small fish in the basin. The fish can eat the insects in the water, and their excrement can fertilize the flowers. The fish swim under the flowers, how beautiful and leisurely!
