Why is it difficult to raise azaleas?

Why is it difficult to raise azaleas?

1. Reasons for difficulty in raising

The reason why it is difficult to raise is, of course, because of its habits. It has quite demanding requirements on many factors.

First of all, the temperature is required to be between 15 and 25 degrees. It cannot be higher than 30 degrees, but it cannot be lower either. It will stop growing below 5 degrees.

Another thing is water, which is also quite demanding. It prefers moisture and cannot allow the soil to be too dry for a long time; however, it is also afraid of waterlogging and cannot tolerate excessively wet soil.

Then there is light. It doesn't particularly like light, but it won't do without light, and it won't do even worse if it's exposed to direct sunlight.

Finally, there is the flower soil. Because its roots are relatively slender, it also has some requirements for the soil quality.

2. How to raise it better

(1) Temperature: The temperature range it is suitable for has been mentioned above. Therefore, growers in areas where the summers are too hot or the winters are too cold need to pay attention and take measures to cool down or keep warm according to the specific circumstances to avoid damaging the plants.

(2) Water: Generally speaking, the flower soil needs to be kept relatively moist. In order to achieve this goal, you can check it every day during the rapid growth stage. If the soil is dry, water it. If it is relatively moist, you can stop watering it for the time being.

(3) Light: Given its requirements, scattered light is of course the most appropriate. For this purpose, it is okay to place it on a balcony, windowsill, etc. If there is occasionally too much light, remember to block it.

(4) Soil quality: Considering its root system, the flower soil must be loose and breathable. Also, drainage must be considered. Therefore, we can mix leaf mold, peat soil and perlite to grow it.
