When is the flowering period? With good care, your orchid will be more beautiful and last longer!

1. When does it bloom?

If you have ever raised it, you know that it can bloom twice a year. The general flowering time is from June to October. During this period, it will bloom twice, with a time interval of about one month. The first time it blooms is in early July, and the second time it blooms is in early August. Mid-August is the best time for it to bloom. So from this point of view, its flowering time is divided into two time periods.

2. Maintenance during flowering period

1. Nutrients

When it blooms, that is when nutrients are consumed the fastest, so we must ensure that nutrients keep up and cannot be lacking, otherwise the flowers will wither prematurely. When it blooms, apply a little more fertilizer to it, but make the fertilizer as thin as possible and the concentration should not be too high. As long as you plant it more frequently, it can grow strong and bloom in time.

2. Lighting

Among many orchid varieties, it is the one that likes sunlight the most. Therefore, before it blooms, we can let it get as much sun as possible, and then after it blooms, we should not shade it. At this time, we should let it enjoy enough light, so that the flowers that bloom will be more colorful and last longer.

3. Appropriate bud thinning

Before it blooms, it will definitely grow a lot of buds. Some people think that the more buds there are, the more flowers will bloom in the future, so they don't manage it much. In fact, this is wrong. Sometimes among these flower buds, some grow very weak. If they are not removed in time, they will consume certain nutrients, and other normal flower buds will not have enough nutrition, and the flowers that bloom will not look good. Therefore, we must thin the buds in time so that more beautiful flowers can bloom.

4. Pay attention to pests and diseases

As we said above, it blooms from June to October, which is when the temperature is the highest, so it is vulnerable to diseases and pests, causing the flower buds to not grow or even wither. Even the flowers that are barely open will be eaten by pests and diseases, seriously affecting the ornamental value. Therefore, we must take timely precautions against diseases and insects during the flowering period to prevent them from suffering from pests.
