How to grow large-leaf lotus palm

How to grow large-leaf lotus palm

1. Temperature

Because it prefers a more humid place, the most suitable temperature for its growth is generally around 25 degrees. When the temperature is high in the summer, it is necessary to cool it down appropriately. In the winter, the temperature must also be controlled and must not exceed 10 degrees. Generally, it should be placed in a cooler place so that it can grow better, so the temperature must be controlled well.

2. Lighting

It prefers brighter places, so be sure to give it appropriate lighting. If there is not enough light, the plant will only grow in height, which will cause the shape of the whole plant to be ugly, the color of the leaves to be ugly, and it will easily cause the leaves to fall off. So the first thing is to have enough light. However, when the temperature is high in the summer, it should not be exposed to too strong sunlight. It should be properly shaded from the sun, and it can get sufficient sunlight at other times. In winter, the sun's rays are relatively weak, so we should move it to a sunny place as much as possible.

3. Watering

Although it prefers a humid environment, we cannot water it without restraint, otherwise the soil in the pot will be too wet, which will easily cause its roots to rot. So generally we just need to keep the soil in the pot moist, but we can't let it get wet. Also control watering during the summer dormancy period. In winter, the temperature is relatively low, so we should control watering appropriately. In other seasons, we can water normally.

4. Prevent Pests

Generally, large-leafed lotus palms are often damaged by diseases and insects. At this time, we must use some medicines in time to completely eliminate those diseases and insects, otherwise they will affect its normal growth, especially the leaves, so we must pay attention to the damage caused by insects.
