Cultivation methods and precautions of Dendrobium officinale

Growth habit

First of all, it has relatively high requirements for temperature and humidity, especially temperature. Its suitable temperature is 15-28℃, and the temperature in winter is best above 8℃. In autumn and winter when the temperature is very low, it will enter a dormant period and its growth will be very slow. As for the humidity, just control it at 60%.

Specific methods

Water: Let’s talk about the plants that have just been transplanted first. At this time, the plants are very sensitive to water, and neither lack of water nor too much water can harm them. If there is less water, the plants may grow stunted and their branches and leaves may dry up, and the survival rate will be very low. If it is sprayed too much or water accumulates in the pot, especially if the temperature is high at this time, soft rot will easily occur. Just after transplanting, the humidity in the air should be kept at around 90%, and after about a week it can be adjusted to 70 to 80%. Let’s talk about the growing season. This time is suitable for a good combination of dryness and wetness, which is conducive to germination and root growth. Then comes the dormant period in autumn and winter. We all know what to do at this time, which is not to water too much. However, if the air humidity is too low in late winter, you need to water the plant a little more and use a sprayer to spray some water.

Temperature: In order for plants to grow, develop and bloom normally, of course, a suitable temperature (we mentioned the specific temperature above) is better. Therefore, in autumn and winter, it is time to take anti-cold measures. Try to put things that can be brought indoors inside. If they cannot be moved, you can use methods such as covering them.

Precautions

Because plants have relatively high requirements for humidity, when the weather is very dry and the humidity is relatively low, you can adopt spraying, watering, etc. The specific temperature for wintering is about eight to ten degrees.
