The difference between forget-me-not and lavender, four differences to quickly distinguish them!

The difference between forget-me-not and lavender, four differences to quickly distinguish them!

1. Color

The main color of forget-me-not flowers is purple, but there are also pink, purple, orange, yellow and white. Forget-me-not flowers are relatively large and have five petals. The flowers of lavender are mainly purple, which is darker than forget-me-nots. In addition, they also come in blue and pink. Only two species are currently grown in my country. The flowers of lavender are rice-grain shaped and smaller than forget-me-nots.

2. Smell

The fragrance of forget-me-not flowers is very faint, and you have to bring the flower close to your nose to smell it. Lavender has a strong scent because it has oil glands almost all over its body, which break when touched and release the scent. Therefore, lavender is the world's number one aromatic plant, and the essential oil extracted from it is widely used in beauty, daily chemicals and other fields.

3. Growth habits

Forget-me-nots like loose, breathable and slightly alkaline soil. They are drought-tolerant and prefer dryness and avoid moisture. When planting, the distance between each plant should be controlled at 30 to 40 cm, and the planting depth should be above the root neck of the forget-me-not. The temperature should be controlled below 15℃ within 2 months after planting to ensure that the forget-me-not passes the temperature stage, which is conducive to its normal flowering. Lavender likes sunshine, needs full-day sunshine, likes warm winters and cool summers, is not very heat-resistant, and is afraid of waterlogging. Do not water when the sun is out, and do not water the plants themselves to prevent insects and rot.

4. Efficacy

In addition to being tied into bouquets and given to each other, forget-me-nots can also be used to make scented tea. Scented tea has the benefits of nourishing the blood and kidneys, beautifying the skin, and is also good for the eyes. It is loved by many women, but be careful not to drink too much, otherwise the kidney tonification will turn into kidney damage. The main effects of lavender are hypnotic and antibacterial effects. Using lavender to make pillows can effectively improve sleep conditions. It can also be made into scented tea, facial masks, essential oils, etc. In short, its applications are much wider than forget-me-nots.

These are roughly the differences between the two. Friends who like them can buy both kinds of flowers to study.
