The most complete guide to Clivia's summer, if you kill it, come to me

Protect from direct sunlight

The sun is strong in summer, so potted Clivia needs shade at noon, but can accept direct sunlight in the morning and evening. If you are indoors, just draw the curtains during the hottest time of the day.

Avoid high temperature and do not dry

The suitable temperature for Clivia's growth is 18℃--25℃. In areas where the summer temperature reaches over 30 degrees for a long time, it is best to place it in an air-conditioned room. If there is no air conditioning, place it in a ventilated and cool place indoors. The evaporation rate is large in summer, so Clivia must not be allowed to lack water. In summer, water it when the soil is dry and then water it when it is wet. That is, water it after the surface 2 to 3 cm of soil is completely dry, and the watering time should be controlled after 6 pm.

To prevent excessive growth, do not apply fertilizer!

If the temperature exceeds 30 degrees and there are no suitable conditions to cool down the Clivia, it will enter a dormant state in summer. In this case, you must stop fertilizing, one to prevent excessive growth, and the other to avoid burning the roots.

Anti-dust pollution

The leaves of Clivia are large and easily covered with dust. Remember to wipe the leaves with a soft damp cloth every week to remove dust.

Prevent bacterial infection

The summer is hot and humid, and bacteria are very easy to breed. Therefore, when watering and wiping the Clivia, you must be careful not to make wounds on the leaves to avoid infection.
