Propiconazole is a triazole fungicide with the characteristics of a broad fungicide spectrum, high activity, fast fungicide speed and long lasting effect. It is especially effective in preventing and controlling diseases such as powdery mildew and rust leaf spot. So what are the contraindications for the use of propiconazole? Let’s learn more about it below. Contraindications of using propiconazole 1. Use period The use of propiconazole in the seedling stage can easily reduce the seedling rate, rigidify the seedlings, inhibit growth, and burn young fruits. It should be used in the middle and late stages of the crop as much as possible. 2. Use concentration Too high a concentration of propiconazole will inhibit growth, so the time and dosage of medication should be strictly controlled when using it. 3. Pay attention to the interval The residual effect of propiconazole is about 1 month, so be careful not to use it continuously . 4. Avoid using crops Propiconazole is sensitive to crops such as melons, grapes, edamame and bananas, so use it with caution. 5. Mixing taboos Propiconazole cannot be mixed with strong alkaline pesticides . 6. Storage conditions The storage temperature of propiconazole shall not exceed 35°C. It should be stored in a ventilated and dry warehouse to prevent moisture and sunlight. It should not be mixed with food, seeds or feed . How to use propiconazole correctly? The usage of propiconazole is different for different crops, different periods and different cultivation methods. Here are some common usages: 1. To prevent and control tomato anthracnose and pepper leaf spot, spray 2500 times diluted 25% propiconazole emulsifiable concentrate in the early stage of the disease. 2. To prevent and control eggplant stem rot, use 2500 times diluted 25% propiconazole emulsifiable concentrate to irrigate the roots, 250 ml of solution per plant, and irrigate 2-3 times in a row. 3. To prevent and control anthracnose of bitter gourd and melon, spray with 1000 times diluted 25% propiconazole emulsifiable concentrate in the early stage of the disease. 4. To prevent and control apple brown spot disease, spray with 800-1000 times diluted 20% propiconazole microemulsion, or 1000-1500 times diluted 25% propiconazole emulsifiable concentrate or 250 g/L emulsifiable concentrate. 5. To prevent and control peanut leaf spot disease , spray 2500 times diluted 25% propiconazole emulsifiable concentrate at the early stage of the disease, and spray 2-3 times continuously with an interval of 14 days. 6. To prevent and control rice sheath blight, before or in the early stage of the disease, use 20-40 ml of 25% propiconazole emulsifiable concentrate per mu and add 45-60 kg of water for spraying. In general, as a representative variety of emerging broad-spectrum triazole fungicides, propiconazole has a very wide range of applications. However, there are some taboos that should be noted when using it. For example, the concentration cannot be increased at will, and continuous spraying is also prohibited, so as to avoid accumulation in the plant body and growth inhibition. |
