When do tulips bloom? How to care for them after they bloom?

1. When do tulips bloom?

Tulips usually bloom between March and May each year, which is spring in terms of season. There are many varieties of it, and the specific flowering time varies depending on the variety and climate. Some will bloom earlier, around March, and some will bloom later, in May. When it blooms, the flowers are bright and numerous, with beautiful shapes and are highly ornamental.

2. Maintenance methods of tulips after flowering

1. Pruning: Pruning is required every year after flowering, and the remaining flowers should be cut off. Specifically, you can cut them directly from two or three centimeters below the flower or from the base of the flower branch. It is also necessary to save nutrients together with dead leaves, yellow leaves and unhealthy branches to help it recover better.

2. Pilling: It is best to deal with the pilling after all the parts above the ground have withered. It can usually be done in June. Remove the bulbs from the soil and trim the roots appropriately. After treatment, place the wound in a cool place to dry, and then move it to dry sand for sand storage. During this period, be careful not to get exposed to rain, otherwise the bulbs will rot. If it is in the northern region, most of the bulbs are buried deep, so it is okay if they do not form bulbs.

3. Replanting: After the temperature drops in autumn, you can take out the bulbs and replant them. Check the condition of the bulbs before planting. If they are healthy, just put them directly into the pot and cover them with soil.
