Cultivation methods and precautions of Oxytricha

How to cultivate the sedge

Pot soil selection

The myrtle is a strong plant that can tolerate barrenness. It has a well-developed root system. When planting it in a pot, you can choose a clay pot of suitable size. The soil in the flowerpot can be a mixture of leaf mold, garden soil and mountain soil, sprinkled with some dry fertilizer. Such soil is loose, fertile and breathable, suitable for the growth of myrtles.

Light and temperature

The management of Oxytricha strychnifolia is relatively extensive. It likes direct sunlight and the suitable temperature for its growth is between 15℃ and 35℃. It is cold-resistant. During the vigorous growth period of the myrtle, it needs sufficient light. For general home cultivation, a sunny balcony can meet the myrtle's light needs. In terms of temperature, the myrtle needs to be kept indoors during the winter, and the temperature should be kept at around 10℃, but not too high.

Watering and fertilizing

During the cultivation period of the mycelium, it is necessary to water and fertilize reasonably. The myrtle can tolerate drought, but the soil in the pot needs to be kept moist during the growing period, following the principle of watering when the soil is dry and wet. In the hot summer, more watering is needed to prevent the plants from wilting. When the flower buds are forming, the amount of watering should also be increased appropriately. Fertilization should be done in thin layers, and topdressing should be done every 10 to 15 days. Phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied before flowering and after the flowers wither.
