How to plant Impatiens and how to spread seeds

How to plant Impatiens and how to spread seeds

1. How to plant Impatiens

1. Planting time: Impatiens can be planted between March and September, as long as the temperature can be controlled. But in comparison, it is still recommended that you plant around April when the climate is more suitable, which is not only conducive to seed germination, but also beneficial to the growth of later seedlings.

2. Seed processing: It is best to soak the seeds before sowing. Soak them in clean water for a day to allow the seeds to absorb enough water. This will accelerate seed germination and allow them to sprout faster.

3. Planting in the soil: Its seeds are relatively small. It is best to water the seedbed thoroughly before sowing, and then sprinkle the seeds on it, otherwise they will easily be washed away after watering. After sowing, cover with a layer of soil.

4. Post-planting maintenance: After sowing, place the seedbed in a cool and ventilated place, and pay attention to temperature control. If the temperature is suitable, the seedlings will emerge in about 10 days. The seedlings can be transplanted when they have two or three leaves.

2. How Impatiens seeds spread

The way Impatiens seeds spread is very unique and different from most plants. Many plants rely on wind, water, and animals, but Impatiens relies on its own strength. When its fruit matures and cracks, the outer skin will curl inward and then suddenly open, ejecting the seeds. This is how it spreads.
