Chestnut melon growing environment

1. Temperature

The average temperature suitable for the growth of chestnut melon is between 9-15℃. It is relatively cold-resistant and can withstand temperatures as low as -25℃. Due to the relatively cool climate, large temperature differences and sufficient sunshine, the chestnuts are very glutinous and of excellent quality.

2. Lighting

Chestnut melon likes to grow in an environment with sufficient light, so that its yield is high and the quality of the fruit is relatively high. If there is insufficient light during its flowering and fruiting period, it will cause physiological fruit drop.

3. Soil

Chestnut melon is suitable for growing in acidic or slightly acidic soil. Limey soil cannot be used because its alkalinity is too high, which affects the chestnut melon's absorption of elements such as manganese and is not conducive to the normal growth of the chestnut melon.
