What to do if irises don’t bloom? How to solve it

What to do if irises don’t bloom? How to solve it

1. Supplement sunlight

Reason: Irises must have sufficient sunlight to bloom. If there is a lack of light, it will be difficult for photosynthesis to synthesize nutrients, and naturally they cannot be supplied for flowering. This is a common reason why irises do not bloom, and this factor is critical.

Solution: To encourage irises to bloom beautiful flowers, they should be given sufficient light, maintaining 6-8 hours of sunlight a day before flowering, but not strong light.

2. Replace the soil

Reason: Irises like to grow in alkaline soil. If the soil provided is not suitable, or acidic soil is used, these soils are not suitable for growth and will directly affect flowering.

Solution: It likes fertile soil with good permeability and excellent drainage. If the soil itself does not meet its growth requirements, you can replace it with suitable soil.

3. Reasonable fertilization

Reason: Improper fertilization and lack of fertilizer will cause the plant to lack nutrients, and too much nitrogen fertilizer will also make it difficult for irises to bloom.

Solution: Pay attention to proper fertilization when it grows and blooms. Apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before flowering and reduce the application of nitrogen fertilizers.

4. Disease prevention and control

Reason: Infection with diseases will also affect normal flowering and hinder plant growth.

Solution: Pay attention to prevention in daily life, cut off diseased branches and leaves in time after the disease occurs, and spray pesticides for treatment.
