When do bluebells bloom?

When does it bloom?

Campanulas grown at home are generally perennial varieties that can bloom repeatedly. But it takes at least one winter for the seeds to bloom. Normally, the seeds are sown in late summer, and after winter, they continue to grow in spring, and will bloom in April or May.

Different varieties have slightly different flowering times, ranging from 20 days to two months. Just quietly admire the bluebells.

When to plant

The flowering time of bellflower is also closely related to the planting time. Campanula prefers cool conditions, so it is best planted in spring or autumn. But different planting times will result in earlier or later flowering.

Under natural conditions (open field planting), if the seeds are sown in January or February and the environment is suitable, the campanula will grow in summer. But it will bloom only after winter.

At the end of summer, when the temperature drops, sowing begins. After a long winter, the plants continue to grow in spring and will bloom in the same year.

How to prolong the flowering period

The campanula will stay in bloom for at least 1 to 2 months from flowering to withering, which is a very long viewing period among many flowers. If you are still not satisfied, there is a solution:

Ensure sufficient light exposure time, more than 14 hours a day, this can shorten the growth cycle of flowers. It only takes 30 days from the growth of buds to the blooming of flowers, saving half a month for flowering. Of course, proper water control can also prolong the flowering period.
