Money string breeding method

Money tree is a plant of the Crassulaceae family, also known as money-string Sedum and star maiden. Money tree can be propagated by leaf cuttings and stem cuttings.

Money tree likes a cool, dry and sunny environment. It cannot tolerate direct sunlight, can tolerate partial shade, and is afraid of waterlogging. It will enter a dormant period during the high temperatures in summer and low temperatures in winter. Spring and autumn are its growing seasons, so sufficient sunlight must be ensured.

The money tree should be given sufficient light during its growth period to ensure that the plant is compact and beautiful. Pay attention to ventilation, water control and proper shading when it is dormant in the high temperature of summer. The safe overwintering temperature in winter is 5°C. Apply decomposed thin liquid fertilizer once every 15 days or so. It grows fast and should be pruned once every 1-2 years to control the plant height to about 20 cm.

Watering method

In summer and during the growth period of the money tree, we basically follow the principle of "don't water if it's not dry". Wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering. In winter, normal watering is performed when the temperature is generally over 10 degrees Celsius. Stop watering when the temperature is lower than this.

Fertilization method

In order to make the money string grow faster and better, nutrients are essential, so during the growth period, fertilizer is generally applied once every half a month. In winter, according to the above watering method, fertilizer can be applied when the temperature is above 10 degrees Celsius, otherwise stop fertilizing.

Pruning methods

It is very easy for the money tree to grow branches when it grows, thus absorbing too many nutrients, so proper pruning is necessary. This can ensure the growth of the money tree to a certain extent and also make it beautiful.

Things to note when breeding money string

1. The main disease in the cultivation process of money tree is gray mold. When symptoms are found, spray the medicine in time. Plant sterilization drugs such as carbendazim and thiophanate-methyl can be used.

2. Money tree likes sunlight. It is more conducive to its growth in an environment with sufficient light, and the color state will be better presented. However, in summer, it is necessary to provide appropriate shade to prevent sunburn of the leaves and affect its growth.
