How to raise Huang Li

How to raise Huang Li

Watering method

Although Huangli is relatively easy to grow, it can easily grow tall and leggy. If there is insufficient light, try to reduce watering.

Try to water during the warmer time near noon in spring and winter and the cooler afternoon or evening in summer.

The frequency of watering is relatively flexible, water when the soil is completely dry. The leaves of Huangli are relatively thick, so it doesn’t matter if you don’t water them for a short period of time. However, if you don’t water them for a long time, the leaves will wilt. In this case, you must water them in time.

Lighting requirements

Except for the remaining time when it needs appropriate shade, it can be maintained in full sunlight at other times. Adequate light can ensure that the Huangli plant has a compact shape and beautiful leaf color. If there is insufficient light, the shape of the Huangli plant will become loose, the leaves and stems will become longer, and the color will become much darker.

Temperature requirements

The most suitable growth temperature for Huangli is 15~28℃, which should be the standard all year round.

When the temperature is above 30℃ in summer and below 5℃ in winter, the plant will enter a dormant period. It's okay in summer, but in winter, try to control the temperature above 5℃ to avoid frost damage.

Ventilation and seedling acclimatization

All succulents like a ventilated environment, which can effectively prevent the breeding of diseases and pests.

For the newly bought Huangli, you can plant it in moist soil with a seedling-slowing device, and then place it in a bright and ventilated place for 1 to 2 weeks, gradually increasing the light. If the soil surface looks very dry, you can water it as appropriate.

Notes on summer and winter

When the temperature is above 30℃ in summer, you should provide appropriate shade, increase ventilation, and water in moderation. You don't need to water thoroughly, just maintain the normal growth of the plant. Too much water may cause the yellow lily to rot.

Huangli's leaves are thick and contain a lot of water. They are drought-resistant but not frost-resistant. In winter, when the temperature is below 5℃, you should control watering or even cut off watering. If the temperature continues to drop, you should keep warm.
