Tips on daffodil care

Environmental requirements

Daffodils prefer a warm and humid climate, and are especially suitable for planting in places where there is no severe cold in winter, no scorching heat in summer, and lots of rain in spring.

It likes water and is tolerant to fertilizer. It requires loose, neutral or slightly acidic loam rich in organic matter and sufficient water, but it is also drought-resistant and barren-resistant.

Narcissus likes sunlight but can tolerate partial shade. It requires sufficient water during the flowering period.

Narcissus is a short-day plant that can bloom with 10 hours of light a day.

Environmental requirements at different stages

Narcissus prefers a cool climate during its growing period, with a suitable temperature of 10-20℃ and can withstand temperatures as low as 0℃.

In the later stage, it likes warmth, with temperatures of 20-25℃ and humidity of 70-80%, which is most suitable for bulb enlargement.

Narcissus has a higher requirement for water than other flowers, and water supply must be guaranteed during the period of vigorous growth and development. It needs to be fully dried in the later stage of growth, otherwise it will affect bud differentiation.

The flower bud differentiation of daffodils occurs during the high temperature dormancy period in summer. Flower buds are not formed during the field growth until harvest. Flower bud differentiation begins after a period of time after harvest.

The development and bolting of flower buds should be carried out at a lower temperature, preferably 9℃.

It likes an environment with plenty of sunlight. Insufficient light will cause it to grow thin and weak, which is not conducive to the production and accumulation of nutrients.
