How to grow fine-leaved banyan bonsai

How to grow fine-leaved banyan bonsai

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: To grow fine-leaved banyan bonsai, you need soil with rich texture and good drainage. You can use sandy soil mixed with coal slag.

2. Watering: Wait until the soil in the pot becomes dry before watering, and water it thoroughly at one time. In summer, when the temperature is relatively high, you can water more often, once in the morning and once in the evening.

3. Light: The fine-leaved banyan should be grown in a sunny and ventilated environment. It likes a sunny and warm growing environment. If it is placed in a dark and unventilated environment for a long time, it will easily cause leaf fall and poor growth.

2. Breeding Methods

Cutting propagation: Use 1-2 year old branches, about 5-15 cm in length, remove the leaves at the bottom of the branches, and only keep 1-2 leaves at the top. Then plant the cuttings close to the sand bed. It doesn't need to be inserted too deep, about 1/3 of the way is enough. Cover it with a layer of film and provide it with a breeding environment of 25℃, and new roots will grow in about 30-45 days.

3. Common pests and diseases

The fine-leaved banyan bonsai rarely suffers from diseases and insect pests, but prevention measures must be taken during maintenance, and it must be given a suitable growing environment and air circulation must be ensured. It may be infested by scale insects, but don't worry, just brush them off with a brush once you find them.
