The difference between Endless Summer and ordinary hydrangea

The difference between Endless Summer and ordinary hydrangea

Flowering period

The flowering period can be said to be the most important difference between the two. Researchers have found that the flowering period of Endless Summer is several weeks longer than that of ordinary hydrangeas, and can even reach more than ten weeks. For plants, it is rare for the flowering period to be extended by several weeks.

Low temperature resistance

Endless Summer has a stronger ability to withstand low temperatures. Generally speaking, it can bloom as long as it is not in extremely cold conditions. So this means that in colder conditions, Endless Summer can bloom, but ordinary hydrangeas will not bloom or will bloom less.

Flowering position

Friends who have planted Endless Summer may know that if you observe carefully, you will find that the shadow of the flower can be found on both new and old branches of the Endless Summer. This is very different from ordinary hydrangeas. Its new branches do not bloom. If you want to appreciate hydrangeas, you have to find old branches. Therefore, for Endless Summer, you can trim it into the shape you like according to your own wishes. After all, its branches, whether new or old, can bloom beautiful flowers. Ordinary hydrangeas are not so satisfactory. If you trim them casually, it may affect its normal flowering. So, this can also explain why Endless Summer blooms more than ordinary hydrangeas.

Appearance

The leaves of Endless Summer are thin and fine, lighter in color, and have obvious serrations on the edges, while the leaves of Common Hydrangea are thicker, darker in color, and look plump and round. In addition, the petals of Endless Summer are slightly smaller in comparison.

Popularity

Combining the above aspects, the advantages of Endless Summer are more obvious. Therefore, its popularity is much higher.
