Forsythia suspensa cultivation technology, cultivation and management

1. Management during the seedling stage

For Forsythia propagated by seeds, weeding, soil loosening and thinning should be carried out in time when the seedlings grow to 20 cm. When thinning out the seedlings, two plants should be left in each hole and watering should be carried out in a timely manner. When the seedlings grow to 30-40 cm, apply human urine and manure fertilizer. During the growth period, you should apply fertilizer once or twice in combination with loosening the soil. It is best to apply farmyard manure and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to promote earlier maturity and more fruiting.

2. Management of mature trees

During the management of adult trees, attention should be paid to timely pruning, cutting off some of the overgrown branches and old branches to facilitate the sprouting of new branches. After the leaves fall in autumn every year, the overgrown and old branches should be cut off, and the branches that have been there for many years should also be pruned back. If you find any branches that are growing too long, cut them off directly from the base to save nutrient consumption.

3. Management of Wild Trees

We must also pay attention to the management of wild Forsythia and carry out reclamation and mulching treatments regularly, so that the yield increase effect will be more obvious. If there are continuous adult trees, the slopes should be cleared in late spring and early autumn each year. During the growing period, the soil should be loosened and fertilizers should be applied to ensure better growth, promote more fruiting and increase yields. In addition, pruning should be carried out after the leaves fall in late autumn every year.
