How to deal with the flowering of various varieties of succulents

Recently, many succulents such as "Akashi Maru" and "Baoshan" have bloomed one after another, which is amazing. "It turns out that succulents can be so brilliant. However, I heard that succulents will die after blooming. I wonder if it is true?"

The whole plant dies when it blooms

The succulents of the genus Oleander are quite special. Basically the whole plant will die after flowering, such as Echeveria, Phoenix, Fuji, etc. Let’s take the example of the Zinnia plant. Its leaves are arranged in a small rosette shape. There is a faint white powder on the surface of the leaves. The tips of the leaves will appear a beautiful pink in the sun. The leaves will also turn slightly red in winter due to the large temperature difference. The flowers grow out from the center of the plant. If you want to prevent the lotus from dying after flowering, you can "behead" it - cut off the flower buds.

In addition to the succulents of the genus Oleander, there are also Alba and Prodigy of the genus Cyperus, and Indika and Deqin Echeveria of the genus Echeveria, which will also die after flowering.

Aeonium: Blooming Does Not Die

The succulent plants of the genus Aeonium look like flowers themselves and are very beautiful, such as Black Magic Master, Flowery Leaf Cold Moon Night, Mirror, and Jade Dragon Guanyin, but their flowers are not beautiful, except for the Little Man Offering. Therefore, in order to avoid consuming too much nutrients, for succulents of the genus Aeonium, you can cut off the flower buds to prevent them from blooming.

If you want to appreciate the beautiful flowers of the Little People Festival, that's fine, but you need to pay special attention to its nutrient supply. If you find that the flowers are withering before they bloom, it means that there is a lack of nutrients. You should also check the soil in time to see if it is infected with bacteria.

The flowers of Echeveria, Ailanthus, and Pachyphyllum are stunning

The flowers of succulents in genera such as Echeveria, Ailanthus, and Paleochloa are generally very beautiful, and it is recommended to let them bloom.

Their flowers are mostly yellow, but there are also red and orange, and the flowers are very beautiful. Take Black Prince as an example. When it blooms, the flower stems will stretch very long and produce super large red flowers.

Plants of the Aizoaceae family look like wild grass when they are not blooming, but are stunning when they bloom, like waves in the sunlight.

The flowers of succulents in the genus Pachyphyllum are similar to those in the genus Echeveria, but the flower shapes are cuter.

These three types of succulents can be cultivated to bloom, and they will not die after the flowers fade. They can continue to grow well with careful care.

How to deal with succulent flowering

1. For succulents that die after flowering or whose flowers are not stunning, you can cut the flower buds to prevent them from flowering.

2. When Echeveria blooms, small leaves will grow on the flower stems. These leaves can be propagated by leaf cuttings, and the success rate is quite high.

3. For succulents with long flower stems, you can cut the flower stems after flowering and use them for flower arrangement, which can generally last about 2 weeks.

4. After succulents bloom, you can put flowers of the same species together and pollinate them naturally or artificially, which may produce new varieties.
