How to care for the newly bought flying feather arrowroot

How to care for the newly bought flying feather arrowroot

1. Soil

The soil requirements of the arrowroot plant are not too high, but it is best to use a planting soil that is mixed with leaf mold, peat soil, perlite and river sand. This kind of soil is better and meets the requirements of drainage, air permeability, fertility, etc. You can place a few mud tiles in the basin to help the soil drain.

2. Environment

It likes a cool growing environment. Direct exposure to strong sunlight can easily cause the leaves to turn yellow and may also cause curling problems. It is best to place it in a place with some light, such as the living room or bedroom. If you cannot avoid the scorching sun, be sure to provide shade. It likes a warm living environment, so the temperature in the home should be kept constant and the temperature difference should not be too large. Take good insulation measures in winter.

3. Watering

Don't water it when you just buy it. It absorbs water slowly when it is not growing rapidly. Avoid water accumulation in the pot. After it starts to grow, you can water it every day to ensure the soil is moist. In summer, it is best to spray water on its leaves and around it frequently to increase the air humidity.

4. Fertilization

It does not have too many requirements for fertilizer. If you want it to grow more vigorously, you can use diluted liquid nitrogen fertilizer once a month. You can also use compound fertilizer or decomposed cake fertilizer. After fertilizing, water and loosen the soil to evenly distribute nutrients.

5. Pests and diseases

It is easy to be infected by insect pests during the growing period. Once the disease occurs, the diseased leaves should be removed immediately and the remaining parts should be disinfected. It can be sprayed with 40% oxydemeton-methyl solution. Generally, 2-3 times of spraying is sufficient.
