The main value of monkey orchid

The main value of monkey face orchid: ornamental

Monkey-faced dragon orchid is a small epiphytic orchid with short creeping stems, 30-40 cm high, with thick and hollow stems. Leaves are alternate and opposite, broadly ovate. It lies on the ground and takes root on the nodes. Broadly oval, length and width are nearly equal, slightly narrow at the top. Leaves are obovate-lanceolate.

The inflorescence is sparsely racemose, with flowers opposite each other in the leaf axils, funnel-shaped, yellow, usually with purple-red patches or spots, and pedicels growing from the base. The sepals and petals are combined into three petals, with the lip in the center. The seeds are tiny. Flowers bloom from April to May. It is often cultivated as a 1-2 year old plant.

The unique image of the Monkey Orchid is well known to flower lovers. This orchid can bloom in any season and its scent is similar to that of ripe oranges. In addition to the monkey face, this orchid has two other strange features, namely two long thorns and two long calyxes. So it is of great ornamental value.

At present, the cultivation of Monkey Orchid in China is still a minority, because it has relatively high requirements for the environment and has high requirements for temperature and humidity control. It is difficult to grow it well if there is no sunroom and temperature and humidity control equipment at home. Although the eldest brother is of great ornamental value, I, Old Pig, am just too lazy!

The main value of Monkey Orchid: Garden use

Monkey orchids usually have purple-red patches or spots, which are very beautiful and can be used for potted plants and flower bed decoration. However, this monkey face orchid is very rare. The ones that can be used to decorate flower beds and flower borders are only in very exquisite manors. In some small gardens in Japan, you can see these lovely big brothers being carefully cultivated.

The main value of the monkey orchid: you can’t see the orchid, but you can smell its fragrance

Friends who like orchids are attracted by their noble character and fresh and elegant shape. At night, lying quietly in bed, listening to the breeze blowing through the gauze window, blowing a corner of the curtain slightly up, and bringing a faint fragrance, it is really the most beautiful experience.

The fragrance of Monkey Orchid is different from that of other varieties of orchids. It exudes the scent of ripe oranges, making people feel as if they are in an orange grove, enjoying the fruity fragrance and elegance.
