How to care for pine bonsai

No water accumulation

Pine bonsai can survive well in places without sunlight, but if water accumulation occurs, the soil will first lose its air permeability, and then the roots will rot. At this time, it will no longer be able to absorb water, causing the branches and leaves of the plant to turn yellow and dry, and in severe cases it will die. Therefore, it is important to control the amount of water during daily watering to avoid water accumulation. This is also a very important issue for pine trees.

Apply fertilizer appropriately

In fact, the pine tree does not have a very high demand for fertilizer, but in order to make it grow faster, we will apply some extra fertilizer. Therefore, do not apply too much fertilizer. It is only necessary to apply fertilizer twice from August to October each year. Most people apply fertilizer heavily or multiple times in order to make it grow quickly. This will be counterproductive. Not only will it fail to achieve the desired effect of rapid growth, but it will also stop growing or grow abnormally.

Repotting

If you want to grow the bonsai better, repotting is inevitable. The interval for repotting is about every 3 to 4 years. The time for repotting is between September and October, or between February and March. Although repotting is beneficial to its growth, it should not be done too frequently. Once every 3 to 4 years is the best interval. Frequent repotting will lead to its death.
