Brazilian wood cultivation methods and precautions

The Brazilian tree, also known as the Dracaena fragrans, is favored by many flower lovers. This foliage plant not only has a unique appearance and elegant style, but also carries beautiful meaning. The leaves of the Brazilian wood have beautiful textures, are emerald green, and have the function of purifying the air. However, many flower lovers have reported that their rubber trees are not growing well, which is usually due to improper maintenance. Let’s learn about the cultivation methods and precautions of Brazilian wood.

1. Water moderately

The Brazilian tree is sensitive to its water needs, so proper watering is essential. Too much water can cause root rot, while lack of water can cause the leaves to dry out and turn yellow. Generally speaking, watering is necessary when the soil surface is dry, but standing water must be avoided. Increased ventilation helps excess water evaporate, preventing root rot and promoting healthy plant growth.

2. Adequate lighting

The rubber tree likes light, so it should not be placed in a dark environment for a long time during the growing season. Sufficient scattered light should be ensured to facilitate photosynthesis and nutrient synthesis. Just avoid strong direct light.

3. Fertilize at the right time

The rubber tree needs sufficient nutrients during its growing period. It is recommended to plant it in loose, breathable and nutrient-rich soil, and regularly apply balanced compound fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium during the growth period to promote the growth of new shoots, make the leaves brighter in color, and increase its ornamental value.

4. Maintain humidity

The rubber tree prefers a warm and humid environment. If the air is too dry, the leaves will dry up and its growth will be affected. Therefore, it is necessary to keep the leaves green by increasing the air humidity. When the air is dry, you can increase the air humidity by spraying water around the plant to prevent the leaf tips from drying and yellowing, and promote better growth.

In short, if you take the above maintenance measures, the rubber tree will be able to thrive in the home environment, not only adding a touch of green to the room, but also bringing in fresh air and improving the comfort of the living environment.
