What to do if the leaves of Anthurium turn black

What to do if the leaves of Anthurium turn black

1. Dryness and wetness

It mainly refers to excessive watering. This is a big reason why the leaves of plants turn black. Once you water too much, the soil in the pot and the plant itself cannot absorb it, water will accumulate and the leaves will begin to turn black. Therefore, when watering, pay attention to whether there is water accumulation in the pot. Just water the soil thoroughly and do not water too frequently.

2. Improper fertilization

When fertilizing during the plant growth period, you may use high and strong concentrations of fertilizers. Since the plants themselves have weak tolerance, root burn may occur, causing the leaves to turn black. In other words, it is just an overnutrition. Just be careful to use fertilizers with low concentrations when applying fertilizer.

3. Improper potting

When repotting plants, the roots are injured due to improper operation techniques. Basically, after it is repotted, it goes through a buffer period to adapt to a new environment. After repotting, place the plant in a ventilated place but away from direct sunlight, and also pay attention to watering. After repotting, don't move it yet, just let it adapt to the new environment.

4. Pests and diseases

Generally speaking, when it suffers from diseases and pests, the leaves will turn black. It is basically threatened by leaf spot disease. This disease is caused by staying in the same place for a long time and without ventilation. In order to reduce diseases and pests, it is necessary to create a good growth environment for it to avoid diseases caused by long-term heat and humidity.

5. Lighting

Another possibility is direct sunlight. Because it needs sunlight during its growth process, but it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight, which will not only affect its glossiness, but also reduce its beauty. It may also cause the leaves to turn black. Therefore, during normal breeding, try to expose it to diffuse light.
