How to plant pepper trees

How to plant pepper trees

Soil selection

It is best to choose fertile and deep sandy soil when planting pepper trees. After choosing the soil, you need to apply fertilizer. You can use an appropriate amount of farmyard manure, urea, superphosphate, etc. After fertilization, you need to turn over and dry the soil. After a few days, level the soil and remove weeds.

Seedling selection

The seeds of the Chinese prickly ash tree are relatively water-resistant and need to be processed in order to absorb water and germinate. The specific method is to soak the seeds in 1% detergent. After four hours, the seeds can be deoiled and then washed with clean water and mixed with wood ash for sowing. Or you can directly put the seeds in warm water containing wood ash, add sand and rub them with your hands until the seeds turn gray and lose their luster.

Planting

The next step is to sow the seeds. Now dig a hole about 3 cm deep in the flowerpot and put the seeds in. If there are too many seeds, you can dig a little deeper. After putting it in, you need to water it first. The water needs to ensure that the pit is moist enough, and then you can cover it with soil. After the soil layer is ready, water it again. In winter, you need to wait until the second year to take out the seeds and put them in a warm place for germination.

Pruning and maintenance

After the plants sprout and grow, especially when the branches and leaves are lush, they need to be pruned. Proper pruning can provide sufficient light and good ventilation, thereby promoting the growth of pepper. At the same time, attention should also be paid to the prevention and control of diseases and pests.
