What is the reason for the water content of succulents and how to remedy it

1. Drain water in time

The main reason for succulents becoming waterlogged is too much water, which is usually caused by watering too frequently or waterlogging in the pot soil. In daily maintenance, you need to control the amount of water you use and wait until the soil is completely dry before watering. If you accidentally water too much and water accumulates in the soil, you need to drain the excess water in time and loosen the soil appropriately to allow the water to evaporate as quickly as possible.

2. Lower the temperature

Succulents tend to grow more waterlogged in summer, and higher temperatures are also one of the promoting conditions. Due to the high temperature environment, the plants will enter a dormant state, the demand for water will decrease, and the amount of water will be difficult to control during watering. Usually water is sprayed around, which absorbs heat through water evaporation and can have a cooling effect.

3. Proper shade

Strong light is also the reason why succulent leaves become waterlogged. Most succulents cannot tolerate strong sunlight, so they must be properly shaded at noon, or placed in a bright place indoors to receive scattered light, and get appropriate light every morning or evening. It should be noted that it cannot be completely deprived of light, as this will cause the plant to grow too tall.

4. Maintain ventilation

Good air circulation helps lower the temperature and accelerate water evaporation, which can effectively prevent succulents from becoming waterlogged. Do not place the plant in a place that is too sealed. An unsuitable environment will often cause diseases and pests, which is not conducive to its growth and development. Also, avoid it being blown by strong winds.
