Why does the lucky tree lose its leaves in winter?

Why does the lucky tree lose its leaves in winter?

1. The temperature is too low

It likes a warm environment all year round and is not cold-resistant. The temperature in winter is too low. If the temperature cannot be controlled well, the plants will be frostbitten and leaves will fall off. It should be moved indoors after the temperature drops and the temperature should be controlled above 7 degrees. Also, be careful not to place it too close to heating equipment, otherwise the leaves will easily be burned and fall off.

2. Too much watering

Its growth rate is relatively slow in winter, the amount of water required becomes less, and the water evaporates slowly in the low temperature environment. If you water frequently, it will be difficult for the plants to absorb the water. Over time, the roots will rot and the leaves will easily turn yellow and fall off. The frequency of watering should be reduced. If the temperature can be well controlled, water can be sprinkled around the plant frequently to increase the humidity.

3. Improper fertilization

Growth is slow in winter, and usually the nutrients in the soil are sufficient to survive the winter, so no fertilizer is needed. The applied fertilizer is difficult to absorb and can easily burn the roots over time. The leaves will gradually turn yellow and fall off. Stop applying fertilizer, loosen the soil frequently, and water appropriately to dilute the fertilizer.

4. Lack of light

It likes a semi-shady environment. The light in winter is very soft, so it should be placed in a well-lit place. More sunlight can not only increase the temperature of the plant itself, but also encourage it to accumulate more nutrients, which is beneficial for wintering. If placed in a dark place, the leaves will slowly turn yellow and fall off over time.
