What to do if potted daffodils in the north don’t bloom

What to do if potted daffodils in the north don’t bloom

1. Recultivate the bulbs

The poor quality of the bulbs is a very important reason. It usually takes three years of cultivation to mature. If they are cultivated before they mature, it will be difficult to produce flowers. You can dig out the bulbs and bury them in moist, fertile sandy soil. This will promote the maturation of the bulbs, and then cultivate them after they mature in the second year.

2. Change the cultivation time

The time for water cultivation is also critical. If the time is not chosen reasonably, it will not bloom more often. Therefore, when water cultivating, it is necessary to avoid the period after Qingming Festival and before the autumn frost. The chance of flowering will be greater at other times.

3. Increase Lighting

If the light exposure time is not enough, the growth will be restricted and the flowers will have difficulty blooming. In this case, you need to increase the lighting time, ensuring at least 4-6 hours a day, which can promote the formation and opening of flowers.

4. Adjust the temperature

If the indoor temperature is very low, the growth of the plants cannot be guaranteed and they will not bloom. You can adjust the temperature so that the indoor temperature is above 15 degrees.

5. Change water in time

If the culture water is not replaced for a long time, it will easily cause root rot. The culture water needs to be replaced in time according to the changes of the plant.
