The growing environment and local conditions of cherries

Cherry growth environment and conditions

Cherries prefer a bright growing environment and need sufficient sunlight for maintenance so that they will grow better. They are also relatively shade-tolerant. They are native to the United States, Canada, Chile and other American countries, and are widely grown in Shandong, Liaoning, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan and other places in my country.

Cherry growing conditions

Cherries generally grow in a sunny environment, so their fruits will mature earlier. They are also relatively shade-tolerant, but they cannot be kept in a cool environment for a long time.

Cherry growth temperature

Cherries are not very cold-resistant and prefer a warm and humid environment. When caring for them, the annual average temperature needs to be kept above 15 degrees, otherwise it will affect their growth. When the temperature is relatively high, they need appropriate shade.

Cherry growth process

Cherry trees take a long time to cultivate, and need to grow for 3-7 years before they can bear fruit. American cherries generally bear fruit in 5 years, and they start to bear fruit in the third year of growth, but the yield is low. Then the yield begins to increase with age, and in the sixth or seventh year the yield is particularly high, with one tree able to bear 60-90 kilograms of fruit.

Cherry planting time and method

Cherries are generally planted in spring, specifically in March, but can also be planted in autumn. When planting, fertile and deep soil is required so that the growth rate will be faster. They usually need sufficient sunlight and a good ventilation environment.
