What to do if carnation leaves are curling

What to do if carnation leaves are curling

1. Disease problem

(1) Specific reason: This is the most likely reason. There is a disease called "rust". It is a fungal disease. It can mainly harm the leaves. When the disease first occurs, yellow-brown spots appear on the leaves, which then become more prominent and darker in color. If the plant is infected with this disease, not only will the above symptoms appear, but the leaves are also likely to curl.

(2) Solution: If it is diseased, we must first remove the diseased leaves to avoid affecting other leaves. Then we have to spray some pesticides, such as oxycarboxin solution. Do it every five days to once a week, two or three times in a row.

2. Lighting issues

(1) Specific reason: Sunlight is necessary for the healthy growth of plants. However, if the light is too strong or the continuous lighting time is too long, some problems may occur. For example, you might notice that the leaves have become curled.

(2) Solution: If this is the reason, then we have to adjust the light intensity and time. Normally, just place it where it can see scattered light. Don't put it in too much shade, and don't put it in too much light. By doing this, the leaf curling may be alleviated.

3. Fertilizer problem

(1) Specific reasons: Improper fertilization is also a possible reason. One is that too much fertilizer was applied; the other is that the fertilizer was not fermented. Both situations are possible.

(2) Solution: Limit the amount of fertilizer applied and avoid using too high a concentration. In addition, apply fermented fertilizer.
