What to do if the rubber tree has black spots

What to do if the rubber tree has black spots

1. Anthrax

It is very prone to anthracnose, which generally occurs on both sides of the leaves. At the beginning, the symptoms are small brown-green spots on the leaf surface. When the symptoms become more serious, they will turn into round or oval spots with dark brown edges and lighter color in the middle. There will be small black spots on them. If the disease is more serious, the leaves will wither and fall off easily.

Generally, this disease occurs between June and August because it rains more and the air is more humid. If you don't know if this is the reason, you can identify it by observing the leaf surface. If you really can't identify it, you can wet it and squeeze it. If pink colloid appears, it means that the black spots are caused by this cause.

Once this is confirmed to be the cause, we can first cut off the diseased leaves and then destroy them. After that, we must be careful not to let water accumulate in the soil and also pay attention to ventilation. In the early stages we can use liquids to treat this disease such as tannic acid or mancozeb.

2. Gray spot

Gray spot disease is also a major cause of black spots, which usually occur on the leaves. At the beginning it is gray spots, and then it becomes irregular. The edges of these spots are black-brown, and the inside is generally gray-white. When the disease becomes more serious, the leaves will begin to dry up and some black powdery substances will appear.

Generally, a big reason for this disease is that it has wounds, so we need to reduce the damage to it. To treat it, just cut off the diseased leaves and then use substances such as carbendazim to treat it.
