What to do if the leaves of the swallowtail palm are shriveled

What to do if the leaves of the swallowtail palm are shriveled

1. Watering problem

(1) Reason: Because this plant prefers a relatively dry environment and is particularly afraid of waterlogging. Therefore, if too much water is given, it will easily cause damage to the roots, and then it will manifest itself in the leaves, that is, the leaves will shrivele.

(2) Measures: We can first cut off the shriveled leaves. This plant has a strong ability to sprout again, so there is no need to worry. In addition, we have to adjust the watering. When it is growing vigorously, you can water it a little more. However, be careful not to overwater. Normally, we can observe that the soil in the pot is too dry before watering, and do not water it when it is not dry. In addition, it is best to water thoroughly and evenly when watering.

2. Lighting issues

(1) Reason: This plant is very light-loving. Therefore, if it is placed in a shaded place for a long time and the light is too weak, the leaves may shrivel.

(2) Measures: If this is the reason, cut off the leaves first. Next, we need to adjust the lighting. At least it has to be diffuse light. Except for the extremely strong light at noon, you can let it receive more light and don't let it stay in the shade for a long time.

3. Poor ventilation

(1) Cause: This is also an important reason for the shriveling of plant leaves, especially when the temperature is high, the humidity is high, and the ventilation is poor.

(2) Measures: In this case, the leaves should be disposed of first. The next step is to improve ventilation. You can move it outside the house or to a relatively open location such as a balcony.
